Norwood school is trying to close this field to the public despite losing planning permission in August 2009.
The reasons for closure are that the children are unsafe. The school field has been open to the public for 30 years with no safety issues despite the school claims.
It also stated that the school wants to errect a 2 mtr high security fence
just like a prison, this will have a huge impact on the properties that overlook this fence reducing their value and vistas. This field will be lost forever by all children out of school hours,including long summer holidays and weekends; where will they play? The school suggested the area north of this field but this area is totally unsuitable as it is used by dog walkers and is not very secure.
